Ever wondered what does '24AWG' in cables' specs stand for? AWG stands for American Wire Gauge sizing system. '24 AWG' means that the wire had 24 steps during its drawing process. So, the more steps of drawing, the smaller is the wire and '26 AWG' denotes a wire with less diameter than '24AWG'.

Metric:
22 AWG ~ 0.64mm.;
24 AWG ~ 0.5 mm.;
26 AWG ~ 0.4 mm.
